How to Sign In to statpx Without a Password Using Magic Links
Passwords are friction. They get forgotten, reused across sites, phished, and stored insecurely by people who know better. Magic link authentication solves this by removing the password from the equation entirely: you enter your email, click a link that arrives in your inbox, and you're in. No password manager required.

What Is a Magic Link?
A magic link is a one-time sign-in URL sent to your email address. When you click it, you're logged in immediately — no password typed, no second form to fill out. The link contains a short-lived, single-use token tied to your account.
The key properties that make magic links secure:
- 15-minute expiry. The token in the link becomes invalid 15 minutes after it's sent. If you don't click it in time, request a new one.
- Single use. Once clicked, the token is immediately consumed and deleted. The same link cannot be clicked twice.
- Rate limited. To prevent email flooding, statpx allows a maximum of 3 magic link requests per IP address per 15-minute window. If you exceed this, you'll need to wait before requesting another.
Because the link is tied to your email address, only someone with access to your inbox can use it. This makes magic links at least as secure as a password — and in practice, more secure than weak or reused passwords.
How to Sign In with a Magic Link
The process takes under a minute:
- Go to the statpx login page. Below the username/password fields, click "Sign in with magic link".
- Enter the email address associated with your statpx account and click Send magic link. You'll see a confirmation message that the email is on its way.
- Open your email inbox and find the message from statpx. Click the Sign in to statpx button or link inside it.
- You're signed in. The link opens your statpx dashboard directly in your browser.
Check your spam or junk folder if the email doesn't appear within 60 seconds. Magic link emails are transactional and occasionally filtered by aggressive spam rules, especially on first use.
The magic link opens in whatever browser you click it in. If you requested the link on your desktop but click it on your phone, you'll be signed in on your phone. Open the link in the browser you want to use for your statpx session.
When to Use Magic Links
Magic link sign-in is optional — you can always use your regular password if you prefer. But there are situations where magic links are the better choice:
You've forgotten your password
If you can't remember your statpx password and don't want to go through a full password reset, a magic link is the fastest path back into your account. One click and you're in; then you can update your password from the Profile page if needed.
You're on a shared or unfamiliar device
On a computer that isn't yours, you may not want to type your password (keyloggers are a real risk on shared devices). A magic link lets you sign in without ever typing credentials. Close the browser when you're done and there's nothing left behind.
Quick access from mobile
Typing a long, complex password on a phone keyboard is error-prone. If you use a strong, unique password for statpx — as you should — magic links are significantly faster on mobile.
Your password manager isn't available
Password managers occasionally have sync issues, or you may be on a device where the extension isn't installed. Magic links give you a reliable fallback that requires nothing except your email inbox.
Two-Factor Authentication Still Applies
If you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled on your statpx account, it remains active even when you sign in via magic link. After clicking the magic link and being redirected to statpx, you'll be prompted for your 2FA code before access is granted.
This is by design. Magic links verify that you control the email address; 2FA verifies that you control the authenticator device. Both factors together give you the strongest available protection. Magic link sign-in does not bypass or weaken 2FA in any way.
